Blog site outage (OOPS)

I have not yet got round to moving the debian server to my data centre (Ex garage) where it would benefit from a 3KVA UPS, so during the recent power cut which struck Gloucestershire, the box went off the air !!
It came straight back, according to the attached monitor, so it did not pay [...]

Over 19000 hits in under 3 days all to the root of the site (the blog is NOT the default site for this IP address)
The default site for this IP address is NOT affected !
Lots of hits from various IPs belonging to globecorp.net, [...]

While this is not quite as glamorous as Brighton beach, I am currently sat in Go Bananas, using my XDA Mini S to write this blog. Go Bananas is a superb, whacky warehouse style, kids fun house with loads of stuff for kids, and reasonable coffee too….

Having just read the piglet power down blog? and just recieved an extortionate power bill, I thought i would attack the problem scientifically
I too have a lot of kit, ignoring the details , at least 4 machines running 24*7 + peripherals and interconnect. So i have embarked on a dangerous (do not do this yourself) [...]
