following on from the bloke in the UK getting a heavy fine for using a bit of free bandwidth
this seems a touch much

Perhaps he should counter sue the wifi manufactures for shipping stuff that is open by default

Singapore has some really draconian laws. Chewing gum is illegal, as is failing to flush a public toilet, and littering is heavily punished. I’ll tell you what though: it’s the cleanest place I have ever been.
Anyway, back to the wifi: Very unfair. The owner should have taken responsibility for *his* network and secured it. All the consumer-grade routers I’ve seen have very clear instructions that tell you to.
