This? blog site seems to have been linked by some odd web ring
Over 19000 hits in under 3 days all to the root of the site (the blog is NOT the default site for this IP address)
The default site for this IP address is NOT affected !
Lots of hits from various IPs belonging to globecorp.net, who seem to be a adult hosting outfit !!!
With LOTS of hits from referrers which look like adult , advert or spam ring sites, like 123clickcash.com and e-pirates.net
all of which have no content as of this morning
And have current NS servers with names like PLEASEDROPYTHISHOSTxxxx.yyyyy? where yyyyy is a different in most cases

I had a lot of referrer spam, which is why my copy of webalizer doesn’t show referrers- it’s turned off. I think that’s what they are trying to to: popultate your stats with links to spam/sex/drugs in the hope that you publish referrers, thereby giving them a load of links, and maybe a higher Google pagerank.

not sure I can be bothered to recalc March stats though, I will wait for a bored evening !!
I have Also setup a .htaccess filer blocking access to most of the culprit IP addresses…
