Thats is, on my way home, sat in the BA lounge at Sea-Tac airport
got about 90 mins till my flight boards, and a NINE hour, pamper class (business) flight home !

I am realy gald we managed to get the direct flight, cant be doing copenhagan, again,

the SAS, SK938 flight is running, albeit an hour lare, which means we would have proly missed the connection to LHR ….

No not a military strike, but a F&&*(“& union style one,
Tuesday / Wednesday of this week the SAS (scandinavian air) cabin crews went on strike, so all flights into / out of copenhagen (which include the flight i was booked on from seattle) had been cancelled,

panic ye not, some wonderfull PA person at work has been jumping on AMEX travel, and got us ALL BA direct flights home, Club exec class of course !

Fantastic result !! So not only do I not have to travel home via copenhagen and get home 5 hours earlier, but the BA flights have PROPER flat and horizontal chair beds, unlike the SA flat, but 15 degree head up slope !!!

All in all, a good result…………

Lets hope it does not disolve in to a “clutching defeat from the jaws of victory” moment

Well TWO (and a bit) weeks after flying to Redmond (seattle, west coast US), for the second time in as many months, I only have ONE more night in the hyatt hotel (oh an a night one a plane), Phase one of the project is drawing to a close. Has expected the last week has been hard work, late friday, and all day saturday (Bollocks, had planned to nip to vancouver) and VERY late Monday and Tuesday, then tonight, wednesday , or perhap i should say thursday by the time i got to my room was a silly late one, to days was a massive integration day, ( it is amzazing how different team of people how have daily briefing dont talk to each other and find sh!t dont work when you plug it all together) but it all sorts of works now, when i say sort of, there arnt any smoke and mirrors, but there is some funky sh!t going on under the covers, which mugins has got to duplicate in the UK 🙁

on a lighter and more intersting note, I learnt some VERY valueable lessonsi believe need to be shared

1. when using power shell to spit out config files and scripts etc , note that the >> (send to file)?? operator outputs UNICODE, sysprep??(mini-setup), cmd (batch style stuff) and cscript aint to keen on??UNICODE !!!!??
2. WINDIFF LOVES UNICODE, in fact it wont tell yoiu there is any thing wrong when you compare it to an ASCII file
3. If you put statuc IP address info in a sysprep.inf file, the network does not come up till AFTER the reboot, which makes the add to domain in mini-setup a bit (in fact a LOT) tricky
4. Virtual Server provisioned machined default to BOOT from floppy, which make attaching a VFD (virtual floppy disk), with the??sysprep.inf on it, ??a bit interesting
5. PSEXEC from sysinternals, has some issues copying the stuff to execute onto the target when you use the -c switch, particularly annoying as we could not run the command direct via PSEXEC as it barfed with “arguement too long”, so placing the CMD file on a mutally agreeable localation (unc share)??to you and the target and NOT using the -c switch does the trick there

oh well, at least i get to go home soon
