I wonder if you have to take and FAIL an IQ test to work for KFC

Just been to KFC and ordered “zinger tower meal, with pepsi, large, to go”
KFC person : “Would you like a fully loaded meal ?”
Me : “No, i woudl like what i asked for !”
KFC: Person : “OK, What is that then ?”
Me : “zinger tower meal, with pepsi, large !”
KFC Person, pick up small, cup and file with pepsi , looks at me , smile, picks up a large on instead, fill and places on the counter
KFC Person : “Eat in?”
Me : Sigh, “no Take out please”

Following on from the bomb scare a few months ago there was a fire (well lots of smoke really) this morning

The Building in which I work in Gloucester over looks a NCP multi-story carpark. The windows have a silver film on them so from the outside yoiu have no idea the office is occupied.

In recent weeks, a woman has??starting loitering on the top floor of the car park around lunch time, shortly afterwards an estate car arrives and she gets in the back. the car steams up and she leaves 30 minutes later.

I need a better camera,

We have now got the official wedding photo proofs

The Photos we have are fantastic, HOWEVER, in 370 shots, there are hardly any shots of the bulk of the guests, and no bridle groups shots.

The wife went NUTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have since rehired suits etc and re-taken the bridle groups shots (with a different photographer) , but the shots of the guests are lost for ever !!!?? 🙁

Following on from my SKY+ upgrade tinkering,??the box died last week, refuse to come out of stand by. DOH!, DOH!, DOH!, DOH!, DOH!

??Ebay to the rescue, got a replacement box in a few days, and put my disk in it, sorted

Or so??I thought

2 days Later it developeed the SAME fault, ODD my thinks
Tried the original hard hisk, NO joy,
So tried to power it up in a Air-conditioned room, still no joy,?? so not temperature related.
So get the USB serial Lead and see what is going on.
Unit seem to boot up OK, but wont come out of standby
Hmm, did some googleing and someone suggested a COLD boot with force firmware upgrade. Which seem to involve power cycling the unit with the “BACKUP” button pressed until the software update message is displayed and go and make get a coffee.

10 mins later, it rebooted it self, and has been working fine every since, VERY ODD
I did notice however that some of the numbers reported via RS232 port increased by 2,
A new version of firmware my thinks !!!

There have been several stories in the media about Alton towers??holding a muslim day, which promoted a lot of anti muslim comments in varies arenas, however the media forgot, possibly deliberatly, to mention that is was NOT alton towers having a muslim day, but in fact the park has been hired by a muslim company in the same way michael jackson hired the same park a fair few years ago or for that matter you or I could hire the park if we had a million quid or so spare !!!

I should have written this one up 2 weeks ago, but on top of the Photography issues we have had cake issues !!

The other half arranged to have a cake from www.barbraellen.com pre sliced and boxed beastie, and costs less than a traditional cake.
Back in Feb we had issue trying to contact them by email or phone, no replies !!
It transpired that her ISP (in the USA for some reason) actively hosts spamming web sites, so as I use several DSN block list providers on my email relays it got blocked,
(BTW I run my own mail relays and have FULL logging of all successful and UNSUCESSFULL SMTP transaction, Headers only, not message body !)
So I add an exclusion for their precise mail relay,

So back to the Cake issue, at the beginning of May the other half start to panic as we have heard nothing from the cake shop, and again no replies to phones call or emails (and no events in the SMTP log this time either)

We were just about to give up and start to look for another cake vendor, when the mother in law calls the cake shop, and gets an answer, (Hmmmmmmmmmm)
So we call the cake shop immediately and sort the details out, and get told they have tried to call us and email us several times over the past few weeks,
However, as previously mentioned I run my own mail relays so know that no attempt was made to email us and we have , like most people these days, a house hold phone that records the last 20 or so callers with caller ID and we have had no called (inc anonymous) we could not account for !

Watch this space to see if we get our CAKE !!!

Getting Married on a little over 3 days time (Friday 26th May),

Just over a year ago we booked a photographers, we Choose Elegante, part of the Kodak Group as there service was, on paper at least, far better than any local freelance outfit and half the price, the package includes a guarantee that a photographer will arrive, they do this be having a stand by photographer who can drop in at the last minutes should a problem arise, from an IT perspective you could call it a clustered photgrapher !

So Saturday morning we get a phone call, the planned photographer, is unable to attend so they have arranged another.
Execellent you may think…
but having met the new guy, he only found out about it 5 minutes before we did on saturday morning.
so it is not so much a cluster or hot stand by, but more of a run to the shop and get a replacement !
This does not bode well !!

On top of this Kodak have decided to close their Wedding photography arm at the end for 2006 and have not been takeing new orders for six months. But every cloud has a silver lining, we will get to keep ALL of the negitives / Digital source material and we will own the copyright, making it much cheaper to get copies in the future !!!!
