Why Woman should not be allowed to drive

As we got back to the car on saturday night we spotted a car parked at a funny angle in the entrance of the car park, with two confused young ladies wondering around the front end

On closer inspection the driver had not spotted the bollard which divided the IN and OUT sections of the entrance, and had hit it, good and proper,
On the ground where the bollard should be standing was now a few liters of engine oil, TILT

So now we are faced with a terrible decision, Help two damnsels in distress or head to Gloucester for more beer.

Beer won !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Operation Beer, Beer, Beer and Yet More Beer
This did not however go to plan, Our Cheltenham night life guide was unavailable due to a chest infection, so after failing to find anything interesting in Cheltanham, we invoked the backup plan, Gloucester. Arrive Gloucester arond 23:30, head for Liquid. BUGGER half of Gloucester queued outside and I can’t find my doorman contact, Double BUGGER
Plan C, Interaction, No queue, That could be bad news, but the doorman said they had 450 , so cant be all bad, so in we go! To summerise, Too much R&B, badly setup sound system, and in those immortal words “the avarege age was n,n,n,n, nineteen”, Could have been better !!!
Grabbed a HUGE kebab on the way home crawled into bed at 0230

Operation Beer, Beer, Bowling and Beer
A nearly flawless plan was almost destroyed because I was late (30 mins , Oooops)
Nothing too outragous, bit of fun,??some hair of the dog, oiling the works for the evening.
and I lost , pathetic really !
Low turnout, but I was not epxecting many for this section !
So the actuall games did not last too long, and we managed to catch the end of the FA Cup Final
Having finished early I popped back home, forgetting that Keiren was due to meet us there after the FA Cup
The Original Plan has not been published as the only similarity between the original plan and the actuals are the location,
What a Cock up !!!!!

Stag Do, Event ONE, Friday 12th May 2006

As Planned this involved the consuption of Copious quantities of Beer and Indian Food, not sure how the PINK hat got into the mix !!
Then it all went down hill with a trip to what is probably Gloucesters nastiest night club, The Quay Club, or KC’s as it was know for many years

The Quay Club has it all, 20 year old sticky carpets, border line crap music and damn ugly woman !!!
Crawled in at 0210 , slept for most of saturday morning, and NO chundering (that was a result)

blog.Species5618.net has new home

I have got my self a virtual dedicated linux server hosted in a pucker internet datacentre,
A virtual dedicated server is a entire real installation of a linux server to which i have full root access but on a shared hardware platform, making it cost roughtly 50% less than a proper dedicated box

So this blog is no longer coming from a old DELL desktop stuffed under a desk in my home……

Now all I need is a few customers to help cover the costs

If anyone is interested it ony took me about 90 minutes to migrate this entire blog and my mambo site
I have even started to use VI line editor to make minor config changes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now for the impressive bit :-
The ISP took 87 minutes to deliver my server after I placed the order.
now that is impressive !

More Car woes

Just changed the back pads on my frontera as they were making a noise
I was however somewhat surprised by what I found

3 of the pads are 40-50% worn and have plenty of pad left
And are comparatively clean
1 pad, ( an inner pad as it happened) was totally destroyed and has very different dirt patterns

The calliper was NOT seized or stuck in any way

I can I assume some main dealer F*&kwit forgot to change the inner pad on one side !!!!
The only problem is the date code on the suspect pad is not readable , so I cant prove this
Until I owned the car it had a full main dealer service history and the pad I have removed are genuine GM parts back.JPG front.JPG

Caravaning and Satelite TV

Had a fantastic time away over easter in the caravan, weather was OK, Did absolutly nothing, which was the whole point
only issue was the pitch, right next to some 30-40 foot trees, and guess which way the satelite dish needed to point

🙁

Easter Weekend camping with sat dish

I have recently been called to a friends house to look at an issue with their broadband connection being very unreliable, dropping out etc.

Having been on site for an hour broadband seem to work fine, line stats were good etc etc,
and then the phone rang…. and the ADSL dropped
Hmmmmm. Faulty filter? I thought, Pull out a few cupboards to get to the phone socket
?

AARRGGHH !!!?

All of the Phones etc where plugged directly into the wall socket, the only thing connected to the filter was the USB modem !!!

Apparently they had SKY+ and SKY multiroom installed, and the so called “Engineer” had added some extra sockets etc and reconnected everything in the wrong order and in the process completely screwed the ADSL connection !
